Kaya Peterson
Au.D., CCC-A, CH-AP
Kaya Peterson, Au.D., joined Southwestern Hearing & Balance in July 2016. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and received her Doctor of Audiology from Pacific University’s College of Health Professions. She is a licensed audiologist in the state of New Mexico and is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Peterson is the Director of Audiology at Southwestern Hearing & Balance and oversees the doctoral student residency program. She is passionate about evidence-based, family-centered care, teaching and supporting future audiologists and serving the people of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico.
Caring for the adult and pediatric populations is something Dr. Peterson is devoted to; she has experience diagnosing and offering various options for patients with all types of hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders. She works closely with the ear, nose and throat physicians on staff and in our community to provide each patient with an individualized care and rehabilitation plan.
Dr. Peterson also enjoys gardening, skiing, hiking and camping with her husband, two young children and the family dog, Kona. Originally from Santa Rosa, California, Santa Fe has now been their home for over 10 years, where they plan to stay and raise their family.
